About Us

Our Ethos & Culture

We believe that our staff must share our commitment to supporting Children through some of the most challenging times in their young lives. To this end our staff team are trained and mentored by highly experienced Managers and Directors. The Directors will have knowledge of each member of the team and each Child. The PACE approach is employed as a general practice throughout the home and will be the basis of our efforts throughout when engaging with our Children. Safeguarding and protection are our first consideration and ensuring the highest standards will the principle priority of the Leadership team.

At Key Future Homes we:

Life at Key Future Homes

Daily life in our homes is structured around building practical skills, staying healthy and enjoying positive activities. We want every young person to feel safe, listened to and able to move towards their own goals.

Life Skills & Values

Young people are encouraged to take part in household routines, menu planning and budgeting. Through weekly meetings and day‑to‑day responsibilities they learn about compromise, respect, boundaries and contributing to a shared home.

Health & Wellbeing

We make sure every young person is registered with local health services and supported to attend appointments. Staff promote healthy routines around sleep, nutrition, emotional wellbeing and safe choices.

Education & Learning

We work with schools, colleges and training providers so that education remains a priority. Young people are supported with attendance, homework and exploring future training or employment options.

Activities & Hobbies

Children and young people have access to a wide range of positive activities – from sports and outdoor trips to arts, gaming and shared house events. We encourage them to try new things and find interests that build confidence and friendships.

Safeguarding

We are fully aware of the fact that that young people in need of support and care are vulnerable individuals, so we have a “zero tolerance” policy for abuse. In addition to the most recognised forms of abuse such as physical, emotional, sexual, and neglect, we understand that in this digital age, young people are also vulnerable to online abuse such as bullying and cyberbullying, sexual exploitation, female genital mutilation, grooming, child trafficking, and domestic abuse.

Our Staff Team

Our staff team consists of a Registered Manager, Deputy Manager, three Team Leaders, five Support Workers and two night waking support workers. All Children will have an allocated key worker.

The Referral Process

We aim to make referrals straightforward and transparent for placing authorities, families and young people. Each enquiry is considered carefully to ensure the home can safely meet the child’s needs.

01.

Enquiry & Initial Call

On receipt of a referral form or enquiry, our Registered Manager reviews the information and arranges an initial call with the placing Social Worker to discuss the young person’s needs and placement requirements.

02.

Visits & Matching

If there appears to be a good match, we invite the child or young person to visit the home. Further visits or meetings may take place as needed. We then complete an impact risk assessment to ensure the home can safely meet their needs alongside existing residents.

03.

Placement & Ongoing Review

When a placement is agreed, we work with the placing authority, the young person and their network to plan the move. The child’s best interests are central to every decision, and progress is reviewed regularly with all involved professionals.
